Everything you want to remember, in one knipp.
Save articles, links, notes, images and recordings with one tap, from your phone and from your browser. Knipp makes everything searchable, reminds you at the right time and shares it with the right people.
For iPhone, Android, the web and the Chrome and Edge browsers.
- Made in Norway
- Stored in the EU
- No ads
- Encrypted content
From wherever you are, in one tap.
You don't need to open Knipp to save something. Knipp fetches the title, image and text by itself, so what you save looks good when you come back to it.
- The share button on your phoneFrom your browser, Photos or another app, on iPhone and Android.
- Knipp in Chrome and EdgeSave the page, an image or the text you've selected. Alt+Shift+L saves without opening anything.
- Just say itA recording becomes text you can search. On iPhone you can also save with Siri and Shortcuts.
What you save, you can find again.
Knipp writes a short summary of your links, reads the text in your images and transcribes your recordings. Search for a word you remember and you'll find it, wherever it appears.
Remember it when it matters.
Set a reminder on anything: the recipe for Saturday, the bill due on the 20th, the article you meant to read on holiday. The notification arrives on your phone and on your computer, and one tap takes you straight there.
Share with the right people.
Share a note or a list and you all write in the same one. Changes and ticks show up for everyone else straight away. For people who don't have Knipp, send a link they can read in their browser.
Personal and work, kept apart.
Knipp keeps your spaces completely separate. What you save at work won't turn up when you're looking for that recipe, and vice versa. You switch with one tap and can create as many spaces as you need. Within each space, you gather what belongs together in collections.
One Knipp, on every screen.
What you save on your phone is on your computer straight away, and vice versa.

Knipp is made in Norway, and what you save is stored in the EU. No ads, no analytics tools, and nothing is sold on. This is what we do to look after it.
Made in Norway
Made and run by Studio Fosselien in Oslo, org. no. 935 151 171. Privacy questions come straight to us.
Stored in the EU
The database and files are stored with Supabase in Stockholm, and the server functions run in Frankfurt. The AI processes the content in the USA.
Encrypted before it's stored
Notes, links, images, recordings and files are encrypted on your devices before they are sent. At Supabase they are stored only in encrypted form, so neither we nor Supabase can read them. See what isn't encrypted.
Only you can access what's yours
Access is controlled in the database itself: each account can only reach its own content and what others have shared with it.
No ads, no analytics tools
Knipp shows no ads, has no analytics tools and never sells information about you.
When the AI is working
The AI gets the content in plain text at the moment it works, sent from your device through Knipp's functions. The functions don't store or log it, and Anthropic and OpenAI don't train on it. You can turn off Automatic AI in Settings.
The key is yours
You get a recovery code when encryption is turned on. If you lose all your devices and the code, the content is gone, and no one can get it back, not even us.
Take everything with you, or delete it
Export everything with images and attachments whenever you like. If you delete your account, everything you've saved is deleted. Here's how.

Questions and answers
What's the difference between Knipp and the notes app on my phone?
The notes app is good for writing. Knipp also takes care of everything else: links you want to read later, images you want to find again, recordings, lists you share with others and things you need to remember. It's all in one place, and it's all searchable.
Where is what I save stored?
With Supabase in the EU. The database and files are in Stockholm, and Knipp's server functions run in Frankfurt. Images, recordings and files are kept in a private area that only you and the people you share with can reach. The AI processes the content in the USA, see the next question. Read more in the privacy policy.
Does Knipp use artificial intelligence?
Yes. AI is part of Knipp and runs automatically on what you save: short summaries and hidden keywords, titles for links and images, the text in images and transcripts of recordings. Text and images go to Anthropic, audio to OpenAI, and both process it in the USA. Neither of them trains their models on what you save. Locked notes are never sent automatically.
Your notes, links, images and recordings are encrypted where they are stored, so it is your device that sends the AI what it needs, in plain text, at the moment it works. It goes through Knipp's functions, which neither store nor log it, and the reply is encrypted on your device before it is stored.
If you don't want that, turn off ‘Automatic AI’ in Settings. Then AI only does what you ask, like ‘Transcribe recording’ and ‘Read text in image’. If you turn on Plans, you can also ask AI for help in the plan builder and the trip summary. What is sent, and how long it's kept.
Is what I save encrypted?
Your notes, links, images, recordings and files are. They are encrypted on your devices before they are stored, and the key exists only on your devices and with the people you share with. At Supabase they are stored only in encrypted form, so neither we, Supabase nor anyone who breaks in there can read them.
Some things aren't encrypted: that a knipp exists, its type, when it was created and changed, which collection and space it's in, whether it's pinned, locked or archived, the file type and size of files, and who it's shared with. The names of your spaces aren't encrypted either, and neither are shopping lists, wishes and replies in Plans.
Two things you should know. When the AI is working, it gets the content in plain text, see the question above. And if you lose all your devices and the recovery code, the content is gone. No one can get it back, not even us. How it works.
Can I share with someone who doesn't have Knipp?
Yes. Share a note or a list with a link, and anyone with the link can read it in their browser. If you want to write in it together, the other person needs a Knipp account.
Can I take everything out again?
Yes. In Settings you can export everything you've saved, with images and attachments, whenever you like.
